She is the middle child in a family of seven. Her father, Herman Paffrath (also an actor), was her middle child. When she was a kid, her family performed newscasts and plays at family's parties. Her mother enrolled her into jazz, ballet and tap class when she was just three years old.  Paffrath was a Missouri School of Journalism student.
